As the work of Doctors of BC increases in scope and reaches more broadly across the province, the internal structure of Doctors of BC is adapting to the changes. Doctors of BC recently realigned the senior leadership team to streamline operations and to bring greater organizational clarity, enhanced accountability, more efficient decision making, and to enable a more functional structure.

Doctors of BC is complex and much of what we do is unique to the BC physicians we represent, which means the nature of our leadership roles goes beyond those of traditional managerial roles. An extensive job evaluation of our senior leaders by an external firm last fall revealed a need for specialized expertise and leadership to align our priorities and ensure we are successful in implementing our strategic objectives. Each of the Executive Vice-President roles (5) and Vice-President roles (12) leverages their expertise and experience to navigate the complexities of our healthcare system so we can deliver exceptional results to our members.

The senior leadership team are working with other leaders across the association to understand portfolios of work and align their teams in the best possible way. The realigned leadership team directly reflects our commitment to fostering excellence, innovation, and strategic agility.
