Doctors of BC policy
Policy development falls squarely within our Strategic Plan and our mission: “Working together, we support BC's doctors to be leaders in delivering and improving patient care.”
Doctors of BC policy:
- is evidence-based and involves extensive background research, review, and analysis of peer-reviewed literature and, where appropriate, new data produced by Doctors of BC;
- is intended to reflect the views of the majority of our members; and
- defines priorities and parameters for action in response to health system needs, available resources, and other political considerations.
Doctors of BC policy includes:
- the policy database containing board-approved policy materials,
- Have Your Say surveys to ensure that Doctors of BC is positioned to advocate for policy solutions that reflect BC physicians’ experiences and meets their needs, and
- Open Mind BC, Doctors of BC’s mental health microsite which provides access to already existing mental health tools and resources for youth, young adults and their families, teachers, and health care providers.
