Port McNeill First Nations Experiential Learning Session
Port McNeill First Nations Experiential Learning Session
The Joint Collaborative Committees (JCCs), in partnership with Len Pierre Consulting will be hosting a cultural experiential learning session for physicians in Port McNeill on Wednesday, October 9, 2024.
These interactive sessions encourage on-going learning and relationship building between participants and Indigenous communities. Learn about cultural safety education, experience traditional food, songs, protocols, language, history, and stories and connect with local health staff and providers.
Sessions discuss colonial genocide, systematic separation from Indigenous identity, land, and culture, and the resulting mental and physical health disparities. These themes may surface personal stories and participants are encouraged to prepare to hear this difficult journey.
