Doctors of BC offers our deepest condolences to all Indigenous families and communities, especially the Tk'emlúps te Secwépemc First Nation, following the discovery of the remains of 215 children on the grounds of a former residential school building in Kamloops. We mourn the deaths of these children, an incalculable loss that escapes description. We reaffirm our commitment to cultural safety and humility within our organization and the broader health care system.
