ICBC is providing additional information and resources for physicians, following changes that came into effect April 1 that impact the treatment of patients injured in a motor vehicle accident.
As part of ICBC’s improved care model, a roster of Registered Care Advisors (RCAs) has been established by the provincial government. RCAs are physicians registered with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of B.C. who are able to provide expedited medical consultations to patients recovering from injuries due to a car crash. The RCA can then advise the patient’s family physician on best practices, diagnosis and treatment.
Read more about the RCA process and requirements here. Questions about the roster can be directed to the College of Physicians and Surgeons of B.C.
