The Board of Directors has approved a Doctors of BC Code of Conduct to support a culture of respect, civility, and collegiality for all members carrying out work on behalf of the Association. The document is aspirational, and encourages members to treat others with dignity, to value diversity, and to understand how generalizations and labelling can negatively impact others.

The code affirms the strong commitment of Doctors of BC to support diversity and inclusion within our governance bodies – Board, Representative Assembly and committees.

Approval of the Code of Conduct follows on the Board’s decision to accept in principle the recommendations of the Doctors of BC Diversity and Inclusion Barrier Assessment report, noting that some will require further analysis to consider their feasibility. A roadmap to implementing the recommendations will be shared with members early in the new year.
