Doctors of BC and the Canadian Medical Association (CMA) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that sets terms for the two organizations to collaborate on developing joint initiatives to benefit the medical profession and to build a stronger health care system for our patients. With this signing, the CMA is committing to spend a portion of dues collected in our province on BC-based initiatives.

The MOU sets the foundation for working together on joint endeavors, starting with the following priority areas:
Physician health and wellness
Medical leadership
Member engagement

We will keep members updated regarding next steps on these initiatives. The MOU follows the Doctors of BC’s decision to end conjoint membership with the CMA starting January 2020.
