Taking steps together towards good health. Patients get moving with BC's doctors!
Why do doctors want to walk with patients? Because it’s the best prescription for health they can give you.

More participants than ever got moving with doctors in 2016
Last year more than 4,650 walkers joined their doctors for a walk during the seventh annual Walk with your Doc that took place the week of May 7 - 14, 2016. The 53 walks across the province included Northern communities such as Prince George, Hazelton, and Mackenzie; the Island communities of Campbell River, Port Alberni, and Nanaimo; the Interior communities of Trail, Nelson, and Kelowna; and Lower Mainland communities of Burnaby, Vancouver, Surrey, and Richmond.
More than 300 doctors and other health professionals walked side-by-side with their patients and the public to promote the health benefits of daily activity. Walk with your Doc partnered with 21 Divisions of Family Practice around the province, the Physiotherapy Association of BC, and the First Nations Health Authority to expand our reach to get more people moving in remote communities.
To encourage walking beyond this one week event, all participants received pedometers to count their steps and monitor their daily activity.
