Plan for the unpredictable
A serious injury or accidental death can have significant consequences. Engaging in rural travel, international travel, sports, and hobbies can increase the risk of accidents for you and your family. Your savings and disability coverage may be insufficient in the event of a catastrophic accident.
Accidental Death and Dismemberment insurance offers a tax-free lump-sum payment for losses resulting from accidental bodily injuries that occur anywhere in the world, 24 hours a day. Because evidence of insurability is not required to apply, this plan is especially valuable if you don't qualify for other insurance plans.
Member advantage
Competitive member rates
The premiums remain level, meaning they do not increase with age, and are offered at a significant discount for members.
Exclusive plan design
The plan is specifically designed for physicians and includes a variety of features to meet diverse needs while staying within your budget. Over time, Doctors of BC has introduced new features, and increased coverage limits to ensure that you are well protected.
Portability
You may continue protection under Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance anywhere in Canada, US, or other approved country if you remain a Doctors of BC member. A nominal membership fee is charged if you are out-of-province.
Association support
Doctors of BC is the leading insurance provider for doctors in the province and we are uniquely not-for-profit. Our commitment to members is reflected in many ways. An Insurance Committee, comprised of doctors like yourself, helps oversee the management of the plans to ensure they are protecting members well. A team of non-commissioned, licensed advisors are available to provide unbiased and expert advice. Additionally, if you are in the unfortunate circumstance of needing to make a claim, your association will be by your side to support you.
