So much amazing work is being done by doctors across the province that we feel should be showcased for the profession and the public to see. One of the best ways to do that is by recognizing individuals who have made extraordinary contributions to medicine and/or their community, who have dedicated their career to improving the welfare of British Columbians, and who inspire those around them – with a Doctors of BC award.
The first annual Doctors of BC Awards Month begins in May. We will soon launch a social media campaign aimed at spreading awareness about our awards and encouraging you to give someone the recognition they deserve. Unlike in previous years, nominations for awards will only be accepted until the end of May. They will not be accepted periodically throughout the year.
So, do you know a colleague or mentor who has made a difference? Perhaps a medical student or resident who advocates for a stronger and better healthcare system through leadership and grassroots advocacy work? Or maybe an individual or group working to make our province a healthier, safer place to live?
If so, nominate them for one of the following Doctors of BC awards:
- Dr David M Bachop Gold Medal for Distinguished Medical Service
- Dr Don Rix Award for Physician Leadership
- Doctors of BC Silver Medal of Service Award
- Changemaker Awards for Medical Residents and Students
- Excellence in Health Promotion Awards
The deadline for all award nominations is Wednesday, May 31, 2023.
