Now in its seventh year, Doctors of BC’s Health Authority Engagement Survey will be open from September 12 until October 12, 2022. This important survey provides our members with the opportunity to give honest feedback on the challenges, successes, and concerns that make up your daily working lives. 2022 continues to present difficulties for BC physicians, and indeed all British Columbians, and your candid input provides a roadmap for Doctors of BC’s advocacy efforts.
As in previous years, the data collected shapes how we advocate on your behalf with the provincial government, health authorities, and a broad range of healthcare stakeholders in the province. These results continue to be harnessed to make improvements in supports for physician psychological and physical safety, and the provision of tailored assistance for the Divisions of Family Practice and MSAs in their interactions with health authorities, among other things.
Responses also help Doctors of BC build and focus programs and policies to more effectively support physician work taking place within their health authorities, and advocate for what you need – driving the positive changes you seek. Doctors of BC is committed to leveraging your feedback to create more equitable, safe, and respectful working environments.
How to take part
Members would have received an email invitation from surveys@doctorsofbc.caon Monday September 12 with the subject line: “Doctors of BC Health Authority Engagement Survey 2022.” This email contains a link to the survey which is being conducted by TWI Surveys, with permission to continue using select questions from HSO’s Physician Work Life Pulse Tool. Please be assured that the results will be aggregated in a way that maintains member confidentiality and anonymity.
What kind of questions are being asked?
This year, we are asking the same questions as in previous surveys on overall engagement and physician health and safety, as well as questions on valuing physician contributions and trust with medical leaders. The optional demographic questions are also included, which help analyse the challenges certain groups may face. We will also be asking for open-ended feedback on the below topics:
How people treat each other with respect and consideration in your work environment
Whether people from all backgrounds are treated fairly in your workplace
The deadline to complete the survey is midnight, October 12, 2022. After completing the survey, you have the option of entering a draw to win one of two $1,000 gift cards to your choice of Amazon or Best Buy.
If you cannot find the survey in your inbox or junk/spam mail, please email surveys@doctorsofbc.ca. To see past Health Authority Engagement Survey results, take a look at our previous survey reports.
