Vancouver Sun: BC doctors working to improve care for residential care patients

The Vancouver Sun recently published an opinion piece by Doctors of BC President, Dr Eric Cadesky, that shows how physicians in our province are improving the quality of care for seniors living in residential care.
 
The Residential Care Initiative, funded by Doctors of BC and the BC government, is enabling  physicians in Divisions of Family Practice to create local, grassroots solutions that reduce unnecessary hospital transfers, improve care experiences for patients and providers, and reduce costs to the system while improving quality of care. 
 
This is just one example of how BC’s physicians are working with many partners – including health authorities and other health providers, to make a real difference for patients, communities and our health care system.
