Specialist Disparity Fund Adjudication

Adjudication of specialist disparity issues is now complete, and the adjudicator’s final and binding decision can be found here (login required). The 2019 Physician Master Agreement provides $42.73M to address intersection and interprovincial  disparity for fee-for-service specialists, and states that allocation be determined by an independent third party adjudicator. Mr. Robert Brick was appointed to this role. He subsequently held three meetings with representatives from all specialty sections invited to attend, who then made written submissions and rebuttals. Doctors of BC will now begin working with sections to apply the new funding over the term of the agreement (2019/20 to 2021/22), and specialists should receive payment in the fall.
