Registration open for JCC Pre-Forum and Quality Forum (Feb 25-27)

This year’s Joint Collaborative Committee’s Pre-Forum event on February 25, 2020 will offer more than 50 presentations and storyboards exploring the theme of “Creating Connections for Health”. Building on the success of last year’s event, where more than half of attendees were physicians, the agenda promises to inspire, engage and connect those interested in learning more about physician-led Quality Improvement work. 

Creating Connections for Health—This Year’s Line-Up

Dr%20Kathleen%20Ross%20JCC%20eventProjects featured at the Pre-Forum event will highlight how the unique partnership between Doctors of BC and the BC government, through the Joint Collaborative Committees, is supporting connections to tackle health care improvement and system change. You’ll hear stories of ‘Change in Action’ from colleagues engaged in primary care transformation. You’ll learn details of projects concerned with continuity of care and culture change; and how digital innovations are improving access across the board, not just in remote areas of the province. Sessions taking place on mental health and substance use, pain management, emergency care, and others throughout the day, reflect the scope of health care priorities that physicians and partners are working to address through JCC initiatives and partnerships.

The day will also include an inspirational keynote entitled ‘Roots of Wellness: Indigenous Perspectives on Practitioner Resiliency,’ with Indigenous physician, Dr Danièle Behn Smith, sharing her personal experiences of recovery from physician burnout.
