Dear Members,
RE: NOTICE OF ELECTION FOR DOCTORS OF BC BOARD AND ELECTED OFFICERS
This is to advise you that on Thursday, April 17th you will receive an email from Everyone Counts Canada (ECC) advising you that voting for Doctors of BC Board delegates and elected Officers is open. This email will be your invitation to vote in the election, and will contain a link to the voting website and all log in information. Please note that, as before, this will be an electronic vote (e-vote) and paper ballots will not be sent out. Biographical information and all candidate statements will be available on the Doctors of BC website on April 7, 2014.
Please note the position for Chair of the General Assembly was filled by acclamation. The Chair of the General Assembly for the Doctors of BC for 2014-2015 is Dr Lloyd Oppel.
The Officer elections will be for the positions of President Elect and Honorary Secretary Treasurer.
For all members of Districts 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8 – there will be an additional election for a District Delegate. Only members of these Districts are eligible to vote for these positions, and will have access to the voting page pertaining to these elections.
Election Summary for the 2014/2015 elections.
The voting window lasts for Four weeks: April 17th – May 15th.
All cast ballots will remain encrypted on the Everyone Counts Canada server until voting closes at 11:59 pm on Thursday, May 15, 2014, at which time all identifiers will be removed and the encrypted vote data will be sent to the Doctors of BC for decryption.
Ballots will be compiled on Friday, May 16, 2014. The candidate receiving the highest number of votes, whether or not such number constitutes a majority of the votes cast, shall be declared elected, as detailed in Bylaw 11.1 (c) of the Constitution and Bylaws. The Doctors of BC will notify the membership of the final results.
