Doctors of BC members invited to End of Life physician Forum

CMA Physician Forum on End of Life Care

Doctors of BC members are invited to participate in CMA’s dialogue on End of Life Care to discuss  advance care planning, palliative care and physician assisted dying, and whether the CMA should revise its current policy:Euthanasia and Assisted Suicide. CMA’s Executive Director of the Office of Ethics, Dr. Jeff Blackmer, will conduct and moderate this forum. Dr. Blackmer practices spinal cord injury medicine at the Ottawa Hospital Rehabilitation Centre and is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Ottawa.

In addition, CMA, in association with MacLean’s Magazine, is planning a series of public town halls across the country to lead the discussion around end-of-life issues and to solicit feedback on end-of-life care.  Vancouver’s public town hall is scheduled for March 24th at the Fairmont Waterfront Hotel from 7 pm to 9 pm.
