Upcoming Events
Doctors of BC 2023 election results: Next president-elect and RA and board members
Voting in the election for the 2024 President-Elect, Representative Assembly (RA) Delegates, and Board members has concluded, and Doctors of BC is now able to share the results with members, along with the composition of your 2024 Board of Directors (elected by the RA). All terms begin on January 1, 2024.
President-Elect
Dr Charlene Lui was the successful candidate in this year’s election for President-Elect.
RA District Delegate
Dr Zhongchuan Chen was acclaimed into the role of District 7 Specialist delegate.
RA Rural Delegates
Dr Mallory Quinn was acclaimed for the Rural Family Physician delegate.
Board of Directors
For the Specialist Board Director positions, the Representative Assembly elected Drs William Abelson and John Hwang for two-year terms. For the Family Physician Directors positions, the RA elected Dr Kelsey Louie to serve the two-year term and Dr Adam Thompson to serve the one-year term.
Doctors of BC’s 2024 Board of Directors will be comprised of (in alphabetical order following the president and president-elect):

Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the RA
Dr Lloyd Oppel was elected as the Speaker of the Representative Assembly but due to a tie vote for the Deputy Speaker, we will be re-running this election in the near future.
Committees
Dr Samantha Segal was elected as the General Member-at-Large to the Nominating Committee and Dr Lloyd Oppel was elected as the General Member-at-Large to the Governance Committee and was acclaimed as the General Member-at-Large to the Audit & Finance Committee, by the RA.
