Call for Nominations- District 1 Delegate

Dear Members of District 1:

There will be an election for District 1 Board Delegate due to the recent resignation of the incumbent. This vacancy will be for remainder of the incumbent’s term which expires at the conclusion of the June 2017 AGM. Please consider this document as the Doctors of BC official call for nominations for the election. Here are the important dates to remember:

NOMINATIONS CLOSE – 11:59 PM, Tuesday October 13, 2015
ELECTRONIC VOTING STARTS –Tuesday October 27, 2015
ELECTRONIC VOTING ENDS – 11:59 PM Tuesday November 24, 2015
ELECTION RESULTS ANNOUNCED – Wednesday November 25, 2015

Enclosed are nomination papers.

Members who are seeking nominations for the offices of Delegate must be a member in good standing with a registered mailing address in the District. A member in good standing is an individual who has paid his or her 2015 Doctors of BC membership fee.

Nominations shall be made in writing on the enclosed form, signed by the member making the nomination, the member or members seconding the nomination and the nominee indicating acceptance of the nomination. All signatories must meet the same criteria as the candidates, as listed above.

Successful candidates must sign the Doctors of BC Code of Conduct that is included in the nomination package. Candidates should also review the new election guidelines that can be found here. The new guidelines will ensure campaigns are run in a fair and open manner, and that candidates’ views are expressed in a way that is dignified and courteous.

Completed forms must be returned to the attention of the Chief Executive Officer before 11:59 PM, Tuesday October 13, 2015.
